Root Drawing: Henri Cartier-Bresson and the Third Man

Root drawing, held in the basement of Rio Cinema this week we worked from film stills from a projector. Looking at Bresson (see image) his photograph of people washing in India was projected onto a wall and just below it, as if coming out of the image was flowing black material. Combining the 2D with the 3D. We could interpret this anyway we wanted. Using charcoal I have drawn the material in white, having it come to the surface of the paper. The other projection was taken from a scene in the third man, I have put the drawing in the 'Drawings' section of this site.
